Away from the crowds
As families look for more space in quieter settings, investors and developers are turning their attention to locations away from the hub of Hirafu such as Annupuri and Niseko Village, increasing the value of properties located in these easily accessible areas.
Annupuri is located about 10 minutes west of Hirafu and is well-known for its variety of skiing options. Development has previously centered around residential projects and housing estates such as Annupuri Residences, Annupuri Village and Annupuri Gardens, and now the international operator Aman Resorts is in the planning phase for the development of neighboring Moiwa village and the expectation is this will spark further international investment. However, the mixture of pensions, chalets and hotels means it still retains the traditional feeling of being in a quiet Japanese alpine village nestled into the surrounding Annupuri mountain range.
Situated between Hirafu and Annupuri, Niseko Village and the surrounding Higashiyama area is oriented towards family activities in both the winter and summer seasons and is home to several well- established resort hotels including the Hilton, Ritz Carlton, Hinode Hills as well as New World La Plume Niseko Resort coming soon in 2025. Niseko Village is truly a playground for families to enjoy at any time of the year.
